Goodreads’ Book Description:

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

Valeria’s Book Review:

The last and final book in the Ten Tiny Breaths series.

The gorgeous, cocky, smart and super sexy, biggest flirt of all time bouncer from Penny’s, Ben Morris, has his own story and you cannot miss it!

“Have you always loved yourself this much?”
“I had an awkward year in ‘ninety-nine, but I got over it quick.”

We got to meet him in Ten Tiny Breaths, but now you will know the real him. Every book has had its own story and I’ve loved all of them…but I have to admit that Five Ways to Fall is one of my absolute favorites in this series!

Every time I turned the page I was already laughing at something that Ben had said! I love how  K.A. made me laugh with the comments that both Reese and Ben would throw at each other. The banter between the two of them was hilarious and I felt like I was standing in front of them, watching the whole scene unravel in front of me. Her writing is so good and real, that I honestly felt like Reese and Ben were people that I would know in real life.

Reese has this bad ass vibe going on. She has purple hair, tattoos, piercings and to top it all off, she rides a Harley!

She’s hurt and broken, after she finds that her husband cheated on her. She goes crazy, and she is pissed off at the world.

“Word to the wise: if you have to fight over a guy, he’s not worth it. Go for the one who’s waiting for you.”

Her step-father is willing to help her move on, and after some convincing she accept his offer to work at the law firm. It’s time to move on with her life and focus on her new job, but not before going to Cancun to drown out the pain..

                                                                        “You’re not my type.”
I’ve heard this before and I don’t believe her. Hell, I’m everyone’s type! Eventually.”

Ben on the other hand, is a complete softy! Yes, he is a man whore, but he is also very funny and charming, and so sweet. He’s a complete mama’s boy, and he has a big heart. And even though he just cares about sex, it all changes when he meets Reese.

He has his own problems, just like any human being and he hasn’t had the easiest life but that didn’t stop him from living life and pursuing his dreams.

After Cancun it all changed for these two characters and the attraction between the two of them is unbreakable. You will be able to see how Ben breaks down her walls, and Reese slowly begins to fall for him when this was only supposed to be a friendship…

“I want your womanizing mama’s-boy football-player butt all to myself and if I catch you with any Twinkies or beautify queens or anyone else, you’d better run fast because I will hunt you down.”

If you’re looking for a read that has a sexy and charming man, a strong female lead, and you want to laugh and fall in love, then this is your book!

“I see the shift in her, the moment when she realized that, though she’d prefer to castrate the entire male species right now, she can’t ignore her attraction to me.”

I will truly miss these characters so much! I know I will reread this book again and again in the future because of how amazing it is! This was the perfect book and couple to end one of my favorite new adult series.

“I’ve watched you chasing girls since you were six years old, so don’t pretend otherwise… This one’s different, though, isn’t she?”

“No.” The bells. The fucking church bells are ringing in her head. I know it.

I highly recommend this book! You can read any of the books from this series as a standalone, but my recommendation is to start from the beginning and read all the books in order, so that you don’t miss anything!

Thank you once again to K.A. Tucker, for these beautiful stories and characters that have sucked me into their world and made me fall in love with each and every one of them! I am so sad to be ending this beautifully written series, but I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next!

In Her Wake

 Goodreads’ Book Description:

Before you knew him as Trent in ten tiny Breaths, he was Cole Reynolds—and he had it all. Until one night when he makes a fatal, wrong decision…and loses everything.

When a drunken night out at a Michigan State college party results in the death of six people, Cole must come to terms with his part in the tragedy. Normally, he’d be able to lean on his best friends—the ones who have been in his life since he could barely walk. Only, they’re gone. Worse, there’s the shattered body of a sixteen-year-old girl lying somewhere in a hospital bed, her entire life ripped from her because of a case of beer and a set of keys.

Everyone assures him that they know it wasn’t intentional, and yet he can’t ignore the weight of their gazes, the whispers behind his back. Nor can he shake the all-consuming guilt he feels every time he thinks of that girl who won’t so much as allow him near her hospital room to apologize. As the months go by and the shame and loneliness festers, Cole begins to lose his grip on what once was important—college, his girlfriend, his future. His life. It’s not until Cole hits rock-bottom that he can begin to see another way out of his personal hell: forgiveness.

And there’s only one person who can give that to him…

Valeria’s Book Review:

The side of Trent’s story we didn’t know…

A very emotional and heart breaking story. A novella that follows the Ten Tiny Breaths book, that you should not miss in this series!

If you’ve read Ten Tiny Breaths, you know Trent and you love him. But the back story of how he came to be is all explained in this book…and you will know the real Cole before he was Trent Emerson.

The tragic accident that changes everything and the aftermath of it all.

This novella is told entirely from his POV. His back story from the very beginning, after the accident, and what lead up to Cole (Trent) and Kacey meeting.

“I want her to meet me. Trent Emerson. The guy who wants to feel the warmth that I know exists within her. The guy who’s tied to her forever, whether she likes it or not. The one who needs to somehow make things right with her because I made everything so wrong.”

I loved reading his story! Even though I cried a couple of times, because of how much it is to take in, I really did enjoy it. It is very sad and devastating having to read how someone has dealt with such a tragedy in their life. But being in his head and learning about everything that he went through and what he did to change after it was so interesting!

He is a broken and depressed man after all of this, who eventually finds a way to get better to safe himself and Kacey along the way.

This is not a happy story and you won’t see where the relationship goes from here…that’s in Ten Tiny Breaths, but you will see all of the things that he did to get to Kacey and what he does for her.

I can say that he seems a little bit of a stalker at one point, or just a tad bit obsessed. But you will see that that is his way of moving forward, especially by trying to be by her side, by trying to help her move forward as well.

“She’s so dark, so harsh, so wounded. Her prickly exterior would keep most everyone away.
And yet all I want to do is get closer.”

The emotional impact after the accident, the characters and the slight beginning to a beautiful romance will consume you in this story.

“What if she could learn to love again? And what if I’m the one who can remind her what that feels like?”

I loved this book, and trust me you do not want to miss this story!  It was definitely a super fast and short read!

Thank you K.A. Tucker for this amazing series!!!

And now he’s doing it to me.

Rating: 4 out of 5

But when Maggie discovers secrets in the childhood lock box hidden in Celine’s apartment, she begins asking questions. Questions about the man Celine fell in love with. The man she never told anyone about, not even Maggie. The man who Celine herself claimed would be her ruin.

On the hunt for answers that will force the police to reopen the case, Maggie uncovers more than she bargained for about Celine’s private life—and inadvertently puts herself on the radar of a killer who will stop at nothing to keep his crimes undiscovered.

Valeria’s Book Review:

It is all a matter of who can you trust…

I will admit that I felt out of my comfort zone when I picked up this book. It isn’t your typical Romance novel…and anything without Romance isn’t my usual cup of tea! haha

This is a Suspense novel, yet it will appeal to those who are fans of Romance. It has its sexy scenes without quite telling a love story, but trust me it does not disappoint!

“Whatever makes you comfortable,” he says easily. “I don’t want you to worry. I’ll take good care of you.” I smile. And believe him.

Maggie is so willing and determined to find out who killed her best friend. She doesn’t believe that it was a suicide. And when she does arrive to Celine’s New York apartment, she is on the hunt to get to the bottom of this.

When she begins finding things out that she didn’t know about Celine, she questions herself and her friend as to why she was hiding so many things from her.

She starts piecing everything together, but there’s little things and details that just don’t add up…

The more she investigates, the more hidden secrets are revealed, and the clearer the picture is.

“This man was once my salvation. Now, he will be my ruin.”

Trust me I kept questioning everything and anything!

I had my suspicions of who I thought did what. I don’t want to give anything away but I’ll say that I was right about some things. I was wrong about others, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, another unexpected surprise came up!

This novel is very well written and quite believable. It keeps you guessing, then makes you guess again.

It was fun reading a suspense novel…it definitely keeps you on your toes!

If I learned something from this is book is to  TRUST YOUR INSTINCT!

If you’re looking for a thrilling and suspenseful story that will make you think, make you question things that you belive to be true and keep you on the edge of your seat then I suggest you pick this one up!

Definitely recommend this book, and all the others that K.A. Tucker has written!

Goodreads Book Description:

One moment of recklessness will change their worlds.

Smart. Responsible. That’s seventeen-year-old Breanna’s role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyber-bully’s line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas “Razor” Turner into her life.

Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don’t belong. But when he learns she’s being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it’s time to step outside the rules.

And so they make a pact: he’ll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she’ll help him seek answers to the mystery that’s haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they’re both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they’re going from here.

Valeria’s Book Review:

I don’t quite know where to begin…

Razor and Breanna. That’s all. That’s it!

The second book to the Thunder Road series had me so emotional and so consumed by these two characters that by the end of it, I was crying a river!

I was looking forward to continuing the series, and I dove in not expecting anything. I wasn’t going to judge it, or think negatively about it due to how the first book wasn’t my favorite and it hadn’t given me much hope for this one…but oh my gosh DID I LOVE IT!

“This is heartbreaking and consuming and addictive. It’s terrifying and peaceful, crazy and serene. It’s a million things in one brief moment and it’s something I don’t understand and never want to live without.”

I loved Breanna and Razor right from the beginning. They’re so different, yet so alike, and I loved seeing Breanna grow stronger and Razor soften up a bit throughout the book. Not to mention when the sweet and sexy parts in the book came up between them, I was all for it!

“I’m in love with you. This isn’t a memory, but a promise, do you hear me?”

Two different lives come together as one when Razor and Breanna realize that they need each other. The strength that they feel knowing that they could understand what each of them are going through in their own life makes it easy to see why they build such a strong relationship.

Walk the Edge shows us how people are characterized or seen as something they are not. Everyone is always judging each other, assuming that they fit into a certain category or class but everything isn’t what it seems.

“The boy everyone sees but nobody knows is with the girl who everybody knows but nobody sees.”

I love how Katie shows us that. How Razor, the hot sexy badass has his problems that have haunted him his whole life. And Breanna, the smart, over achieving student and daughter has her own problems and struggles every single day of her life.

“For once in my life, I’d love to be myself around everyone else and be accepted for who I am instead of staying silent for fear of people mocking me.”

This book is so well written and so emotional, that we can see how someone can be going through this exact same situation in their own life.It opens your eyes and makes you see that people have their struggles. Everything might seem fine on the outside, but no one ever really knows the real you.

“I’m searching for magic – not the Christmas morning type, but the type of magic that can be found by being courageous, being the girl who takes chances, being the girl who will dance. I want to be the girl who is seen.”

When both characters meet, it was as if they were meant to be with each other from the very beginning and you will understand why they need each other through it all.

“I promise I’ll take care of you,” he whispers. “You’re safe with me.”

Definitely my favorite couple so far in this series. I absolutely loved this book and  I highly recommend it!

It will make you laugh, make you smile, make you cry and even make you melt. This was an outstanding second book to the series and I’m eagerly waiting for more!!

Katie definitely  knows how to hit you right in the feels and let me tell you, this book is all about the feels! I cannot wait for the third book, which will continue with Violet and Chevy’s story.

I have the cover reveal posted and the synopsis on Book Announcements for you to check out!

Nowhere But Here

Nowhere But Here

“He grabs the swing by the seat and it grinds to a halt. Oz’s fingers brush along the skin of my thigh.
My heart stutters. Stupid heart. Stupid short skirt. Stupid deep blue eyes and wild charcoal hair. Stupid, stupid, stupid me for licking my suddenly dry lips.”                    -Katie McGarry, Nowhere But Here

Goodreads  Book  Description:

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she’s curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They’re the good guys. They protect people. They’re…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club’s most respected member—is in town, he’s gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it’s his shot at his dream. What he doesn’t count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Valeria’s Book review:

A book about family, love and trust! Katie McGarry does it again with this beautiful and suspense driven novel. Something different and exciting is what you will read in this new Thunder Road series involving the motorcycle club; Reign of Terror.

A motorcycle club. A hot and sexy blue eyed, black haired guy. And a girl who is trying to find herself in a world where family means everything, yet she didn’t know existed.

“This is your family … If you learn to love us then you will forever have our love in return.”

This new series had me intrigued the first moment I found out what it was going to be about. I was excited because I am a huge fan of Katie McGarry, and I’ve loved all  her books and her writing always gets to me!

“Running is still running. It doesn’t matter if it’s a physical move from one place to another or if it’s to within yourself.”

It’s something new and different, but with her usual style of romance included. I can’t say that Emily and Oz were my favorite characters this time, but I did like how they came around to loving each other and caring about one another as time went by.

They were two completely different characters, from two completely different worlds. And everything changes when Emily comes into his life.

“I will her to look away, but she doesn’t and I’m secretly proud the girl won’t back down. I hate this connection. I crave this connection. She’s continually messing with my head.”

Of course, there were a few things I didn’t like because if I liked everything, it would have been a 5 star book for me. I didn’t fall in love with Oz and Emily like I thought I would, I guess I just expected more romance from both ends.

There were many cute and flirty times between them, but something didn’t hook me to love them like I usually do with a lot of characters. It did switch back and forth to both POV’s, which I always love, so we get to see inside their heads.

This book was well written, but I’m not going to lie that it took me a while to finish. The story did drag on too much, and the pace was slow. Regardless of that, I finished it and the ending was definitely unexpected.

It does have its suspenseful moments, and it keeps you questioning everything.

And while everything made sense in the end with the mystery surrounding what happened in the past, getting there was tough for me and I was getting frustrated.

Overall, it was an okay book. I didn’t LOVE it like I thought I would, but it was a good read to add to my list!

“I like how you smile and how you laugh. I like how you love and defend your family and I like how you’re trying to love mine. I love how you trust. But mostly, Emily, I love you.”

I know that the series will continue, so I am definitely giving it a chance. I’m not giving up just yet!

Just like the Pushing the Limits series, the characters continue on the next book and will pop up eventually. I’m definitely looking forward to reading about Razor’s story next!!!

Stay tuned for a Walk the Edge book review!
